Intel: iPad Is Not Affect Sales of Netbook

According Knupffer based at the headquarters of Intel, Santa Clara, California USA, the emergence of the Apple iPad not take over the netbook market in the United States. “Previously, many analysts are predicting that. But it did not happen,” said Knupffer.

Last month, research firm IDC’s time to lower the report about the decline in growth in netbooks which allegedly caused by the emergence iPad in the market. The analysis was strengthened by Dell and HP step netbook 10-inch brakes on their sales significantly.

But, Knupffer opinion, iPad and netbooks are different categories and has its own market segment. IPad as more consumers use consumer device, not a productive tool. People using the iPad to watch, games, entertainment and all that nature.

Looking ahead, according Knupffer, in addition to developing the processors in the desktop category, Intel will develop a superior processor in a mobile classroom. “Intel mobile processors will always develop,” he said.

In fact, he explained, Intel also has established cooperation with Nokia, to work on a Linux-based operating system, which has a short boot time, called Moblin.

When abroad, Knupffer often find the people around him using a portable computer, in Indonesia, he actually met the people around him using mobile devices such as BlackBerry. “At least this is a good tool to introduce computing devices.”
